Company statement
Systech IT Solutions Ltd provides IT consulting, support and managed services. We are committed to managing the environmental impacts that arise from our people, premises, travel, purchased equipment, services and the lifecycle of IT assets.
This policy is proportionate to our activities and provides the baseline for our environmental management, customer commitments, framework responses and tender submissions. It is intended to support compliance with applicable UK environmental requirements and is implemented through our procedures, records, supplier controls and legal register.
How we manage our environmental performance
- Legal and other requirements. We maintain a legal and other requirements register for the places where we operate or manage waste, covering applicable UK legislation, devolved requirements, contracts, customers, frameworks and tenders. The register identifies an owner, evidence, review date and any required action.
- Waste hierarchy and duty of care. We apply the waste hierarchy and the environmental duty of care, including classifying waste correctly, using written transfer documentation, checking authorised carriers and receiving facilities, and retaining records in line with legal and company retention requirements.
- WEEE, batteries and hazardous equipment. We manage WEEE, batteries and potentially hazardous or POPs-containing equipment appropriately. Equipment is only treated as reusable where the applicable conditions are met; otherwise it is managed as waste through an authorised route. We assess whether producer, distributor, packaging or take-back obligations apply before placing products or packaged goods on the UK market.
How we reduce our environmental impact
- Working within our permissions. We do not store, treat, transport or dispose of waste beyond our legal permissions. Where an environmental permit, exemption, registration, waste carrier registration or other authorisation is required, the activity does not proceed until the requirement has been checked and satisfied.
- Energy, resources and travel. We reduce unnecessary energy and resource use through efficient IT, remote support where appropriate, responsible printing and sensible use of premises, and we reduce avoidable travel and emissions through remote meetings and efficient travel planning.
- Procurement. We consider durability, repairability, energy efficiency, packaging, whole-life cost and supplier environmental practices in procurement, and require relevant suppliers and contractors to follow applicable environmental and waste controls.
- Secure reuse and disposal. We protect information as well as the environment when equipment is reused or discarded. Data-bearing devices are securely cleared or destroyed through an approved process, with suitable evidence retained.
- Pollution prevention and incidents. We prevent pollution and report environmental incidents, including improper waste handling, spills, unauthorised disposal or significant equipment disposal issues. Incidents are investigated and corrective action is recorded.
- Evidence for frameworks and tenders. We maintain evidence for framework and tender responses, including the legal register, waste records, carrier and facility checks, supplier checks, training, objectives, incidents and relevant performance information.
Responsibilities and review
Directors provide resources and review compliance. Employees, contractors, procurement and service owners follow this policy and report issues. We review reasonable objectives at least annually, and sooner if our services, legal duties, customer requirements or material environmental risks change.
This policy does not claim ISO 14001 certification. Any certification, accreditation or legal-compliance statement submitted to a customer must be supported by current evidence.
