Cyber Essentials certification

Readiness, remediation and someone alongside you for the assessor's questions, so the certificate arrives on the date you promised it.

Who this is for

  • A contract, tender or insurer requires Cyber Essentials and you have a deadline
  • You have started the questionnaire and stalled on questions you cannot answer honestly yet
  • You applied before and failed, or withdrew partway through
  • You hold Cyber Essentials and need Plus, which is a different and harder thing

What is included

  • Pre-assessment against all five control themes, with a written gap list
  • A straight answer on scope, including what can be legitimately excluded and what cannot
  • Remediation of what would fail, done by the engineers who run the estate
  • Support completing the self-assessment questionnaire, in your words and accurately
  • We stand alongside you for the assessor's follow-up questions rather than handing you over
  • Cyber Essentials Plus preparation, where a sample of devices is audited hands-on

What we would do

Do the pre-assessment before you apply, not after. Almost all first-time failures come from the same small set of issues, and every one of them is cheaper and faster to fix while nobody is waiting on you. If you have a deadline, that order is the difference between certifying on time and reapplying.

  • If you already hold current certification, your estate has not materially changed and you are simply renewing, go straight to renewal. You do not need help with this.
  • If you need Cyber Essentials Plus, scope the audit first. Plus is a hands-on technical audit of a sample of your devices rather than a longer questionnaire, and the work that makes it pass is done well before the auditor connects.
  • If unsupported software is in scope, resolve that question before anything else. It is the single most common reason an application cannot proceed, and sometimes the answer is segregation rather than replacement.

When we are not the answer

If you want somebody to fill in the questionnaire for you and leave the estate as it is, that is not what this is, and it would not survive Plus or an incident anyway. We are also not a Certification Body: we prepare you, fix what fails and stand alongside you through the assessor's questions, but the certificate is issued by a certified assessor, not by us.

What it costs

Scoped and quoted against your estate rather than sold from a rate card. We price what you already run, including the parts that are working and do not need replacing, and the quote itemises what is included so it can be compared line by line with anyone else’s. Managed IT support starts at £40 per user, per month if that is the wider question.

Getting out. Monthly subscriptions need one month’s written notice. Annual subscriptions run to the end of the term, and ending one early carries the balance of that term. Managed services are governed by a signed Services Agreement, which sets its own notice period and is agreed with you before you sign anything. Response targets and the onboarding schedule sit in that Services Agreement rather than on this sheet, because both are set against your estate and your operating pattern at scoping. Ask for them in writing before you sign, and we will put them there.
